About

Hi, I’m Brynn!

Thanks for stopping by! I’m a new author passionate about crafting fiction that keeps readers guessing. Growing up in the Appalachian foothills of Eastern Kentucky, I was steeped in a rich tradition of folk tales and local legends. My fascination with the weird and unsettling was sparked by family stories about everything from the Mothman to whispered warnings about whistling in the woods after dark.

This love for folklore grew into an obsession with horror, starting with the chilling works of Edgar Allan Poe, then moving on to the psychological dread of Stephen King’s The Shining. Eventually, I discovered the cosmic horrors of H.P. Lovecraft, whose unique brand of terror solidified my passion for the genre.

My educational journey—culminating in a doctorate in Social Work—gave me a deep understanding of human psychology and mental health. This unique combination of Appalachian folklore, literary horror influences, and a professional background in mental health and substance use treatment directly inspired my debut novel, “Where the Nails Hang”.
